Building teamwork in the ring and at home.
I grew up around dogs. I have always been interested in training from a young age. My first dog that I trained was a German Shepherd named Bullet, who I got when I was 15 years old. I trained him in Obedience and Agility. Showed him a small amount in agility, but never titled.
My first competition dog I got in 2010, and started showing in 2011. A German Shepherd named Schultz. This started my competition journey. I have since trained and titled multiple dogs in many different organizations.
I currently compete with a German Shepherd and two Australian Shepherds.
I rode and showed horses for many years before getting into dogs. I showed English Pleasure/Equitation, Western Pleasure/Equitation, Horsemanship, Gymkhanas, Team Penning, Sorting, Dressage, Western Dressage, and Musical Freestyle Dressage. Many of the things I learned with the horses has carried over into the dog world.
I was a veterinary technician for over 20 years. I have experience working with many different breeds and mixed breeds.
I have been teaching classes for the Greater Sierra Vista Kennel Club since 2018 in CGC, CGC Advanced, Beginner Novice Obedience, and Novice Obedience.
I am a trainer at High Desert Working Dogs Club, a local Schutzhund club.
One of the things that is important to me is trying different things with your dog, even if you have a preferred sport. By doing this, it keeps your dog fresher and have a good attitude while working. The dog is less likely to get burned out on one sport. Training should be consistent no matter what you are doing.
I have shown and titled in the following organizations:
Competed at the AKC Rally National Championship show in 2018.
